Billy Spiers a dedicated member of Unite the Union, who served on the JIB National Board for more than 20 years, has died.
An electrician by trade, Billy served on the Unite National Industrial Sector Committee and as a member of the former Amicus Executive Council. He held senior lay positions championing dignity at work, safe sites and fair treatment across the industry.
0n 20 May 2026, many of his friends and colleagues joined Billy’s family, at St Andrew’s Church in Dove, to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
Earlier this year, the JIB named a meeting space within its refurbished head office in Billy’s honour, as a tribute to his long association with the electrotechnical sector.
