JIB Skills Development Fund: Support for Experienced Worker Assessment Explained

This informative session will explore how you can upskill your workforce, with a particular focus on securing funding for Experienced Worker Assessments (EWAs).

Speakers:

Roger Horne
Head of Membership, JIB
Roger is responsible for all aspects of JIB member recruitment and retention, including developing membership marketing activities. Alongside his wide-ranging membership recruitment and retention experience, Roger has a significant business development track record of over 20 years in the employment and skills sector including tendering for public sector funded contracts and partnership working with social housing and devolved authorities.

Dan Woods
Industry Engagement Manager, ECS
Dan joined the JIB and ECS team in 2025, bringing 25 years of experience in the building services engineering industry. He previously led the Fire, Emergency, and Security Systems (FESS) end-point assessments and oversaw development and quality assurance of qualifications. He played a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of the BPEC FESS Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) with Andy Reakes and the ECS Fire & Security Industry Group. He also managed the trial of the UK’s Fire and Security pathway EWA and route to ECS gold card. His has a deep understanding of assessment processes, training standards and quality assurance across multiple sectors.
