If you're looking to upskill your workforce, the JIB Skills Development Fund may be able to help.
The JIB Skills Development Fund provides financial assistance for courses for those undertaking further education and training in the electrical industry.
As a JIB member company, your electrical operatives and registered apprentices will be eligible to apply through the JIB Skills Development Fund for courses which are over and above the normal requirements of the JIB grading system.
The Fund is also open to those who have been made redundant so if circumstances are such that your company has unfortunately had to reduce numbers in the workforce, the Fund may be able to provide grants to help increase the skills of those unemployed to re-enter the workforce.
Funding is also open to anyone wishing to undertake a study in the electrical industry which will be of benefit to the industry as a whole.
What courses are covered for funding?
For instance, Testing and Inspection courses are not covered as it is part of Approved Electrician grading. Some courses which are covered, such as HNCs or ONCs, and some are not covered, can be found by downloading this flyer for distribution to staff.
The Mature Candidate Assessment for Trainee Electricians is no longer covered as the Fund has worked with The Electrotechnical Careers Partnership (TESP) to assist in subsidising the assessment. For more information please see the TESP Careers Progression Programme on JTL's website.
If you have operatives that may benefit or you would like to enquire on their behalf, or for further information on eligibility, please contact Andy Reakes on 01322 661610 or email email@example.com

"The JIB Skills Development Fund has provided me with funding for the last three years through a Business and Management HNC up to the HND course. The committee's support has enabled my career to move forward at an exponential rate. I would encourage all members of the electrical industry who are looking to further their career to take full advantage of what the JIB are offering and to know no boundaries."
