Unite is the largest trade union in the UK and Ireland with around 1.42 million members. The union covers 22 different private, public and voluntary sectors including manufacturing, public services, transport, food, finance and construction.
Unite is one of the constituent parties to the JIB and is the only organisation recognised to represent operatives employed under the terms of the JIB Agreement, both through negotiations with the ECA and representation of members through the JIB Disputes Procedure. Furthermore, only Unite members are entitled to vote when the Union has negotiated wage deals under the JIB.
Unite is dedicated to serving the best interests of its members, protecting workers rights and improving the quality of life by negotiating with employers and government. As a primarily industry-based union, their structure means that they can effectively represent your interests in the workplace, no matter where you work or what sector you're from.
Unite also offer lots of affiliated benefits such as discounts with financial, health, travel and retail partners. Via other partners they also provide a debt management service with free debt advise for individuals at their workplace, a tax refund service and an energy comparison facility with Union Energy.
