Proposed new agreement

Aug 22, 2011

The JIB is currently receiving many telephone calls about letters sent to employees of the following JIB member companies: Bailey Building Services, Balfour Beatty Engineering Services, T. Clarke, Crown House Technologies, Gratte Brothers., MJN Colston, SES and SPIE Matthew Hall.

These contractors propose to introduce a new agreement to replace the current agreements which define the terms and conditions of their employees. This would entail new terms and conditions which would replace the JIB, SJIB, JIB-PMES & H&V Agreements.

The proposed agreement is currently being created outside the JIB National Agreement and without the support or backing of the ECA or Unite the Union. Consequently, the existing JIB Agreement, in its entirety, will continue to apply to JIB member companies and their operatives representing, as it does, the longstanding partnership between the ECA and Unite the Union.

Letters providing further information are currently being sent by the JIB to member companies and to their employees.

Steve Brawley
JIB Chief Executive
