JIB Industrial Determination 2000/2001

Promulgated by the JIB National Board on 28th October 1999 to be effective from the dates shown.

1. WAGE RATES

From 7th February 2000 three different wage rates shall apply to JIB Graded operatives, depending on whether they report directly to the shop and their method of transport to their place of work. The three categories are:

Shop Reporting

Payable to an operative who is required to start and finish at the shop.

Job Reporting (Transport Provided)

Payable to an operative who is required to start and finish at normal starting and finishing times on jobs, travelling in their own time in transport provided by the employer. The operative shall also be entitled to payment for Travel Time, where eligible, as detailed in the appropriate scale.

Job Reporting (Own Transport)

Payable to an operative who is required to start and finish at normal starting and finishing times on jobs, travelling in their own time by their own means. The operative shall be entitled to payment for Travel Time and Travel Allowance, where eligible, as detailed in the appropriate scale.

2. WAGES 2000

6. TRAVELLING TIME AND TRAVEL ALLOWANCES

Operatives who are required to start and finish at the normal starting and finishing time on jobs which are 10 miles and over from the shop - in a straight line - shall receive payment for Travelling Time and, where transport is not provided by the employer, Travel Allowance, as follows:

(b) Country Allowance

From and including 7th February 2000 Country Allowance will be abolished.

7. WORKING HOURS

From and including 7th February 2000 the working week will be 37.5 hours. The working week shall normally be on a Monday to Friday basis but alternative arrangements can be mutually agreed between the employer and operative.

The first 7.5 hours of each working day between the times of 7.00am and 7.00pm shall constitute a normal working day.

8. NVQ FRAMEWORK

There is a commitment from the parties to implement a framework of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) for the occupational structure in the industry during the second stage of this agreement.

9. JIB SICK PAY ENTITLEMENT

An investigation into Sick Pay entitlement in the industry will be undertaken.
