The JIB Employee Benefit Scheme provides access to health care through BUPA at special rates well below what you can obtain in the market. This means prompt treatment and a reduced impact on your business. The scheme, which covers pre-existing conditions without additional premiums, includes free health screening and an option of cover for a partner at a supplementary cost.
The JIB holiday pay scheme, operated by a credit purchase system, currently (until October 2012) enjoys a dispensation from National Insurance contributions on holiday pay by the employer and employee, reflecting a saving for you the employer of around £420 a year per operative, while your employees each save around £365 per year.
Additionally the benefit scheme includes Life Assurance and Accident Cover for all employees, making a complete package not available elsewhere.
A ‘one stop shop’ for employment matters, free of charge to members
JIB membership will help you with a terms and conditions structure for your business to ensure up to date compliance with legal obligations within the complex area of employment legislation.
The well respected JIB handbook provides an easy reference guide which provides nationally negotiated rates of pay and conditions of employment, eliminating the need for company wage reviews, helping to provide a stable basis for tendering. The rates of pay are also recognised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as the basis for negotiation purposes in resolving issues with clients. In addition, free impartial advice and support is available through the JIB helpline.
If you are unable to resolve an employment issue within the company the JIB will provide an experienced mediator at no extra cost. JIB mediators really know the industry and so regularly achieve a success rate of around 90%, avoiding the cost and worry of an employment tribunal.
These services enable members to maintain employment conditions that attract, motivate and help retain high calibre operatives.
Funding for training
Complementary to its widely respected apprentice scheme the JIB operates a Further Education Training Fund which can provide up to £500 of support to training programmes undertaken by your employees.
Meet new pension legislation with the JIB’s low cost, low administration scheme
The BlueSky Pension Scheme (formerly the JIB Pension Scheme) meets the requirements for compulsory pension contributions from 2012. Introduced in 1988 and designed for the electrical contracting industry this established scheme provides an excellent low cost, low administration solution for meeting the new pension criteria.
