From 1st June 2006 the JIB has been formally inviting applications for financial assistance from its Further Education Fund for individuals wishing to undertake further education or training in the electrical contracting industry.

The mission of the Further Education Fund Committee is, by providing financial assistance, to assist employee members and apprentices of the Joint Industry Board to enhance their careers by extending their vocational education, knowledge and experience for the benefit both of themselves and the industry that they serve.

Applicants must be JIB graded operatives participating in the Combined Benefits Scheme or be JIB registered apprentices. However, applicants will not be debarred from applying if their employer has not registered them for whatever reason if they are eligible. Funding will also be open to anybody who wishes to undertake a study in the electrical contracting industry which will be of benefit to the Industry as a whole.

Any applications must be for courses over and above what is required under the JIB grading structure. For example, funding apprentices for the AM2 or adults for the City & Guilds 2391 will not be entertained as these are requirements of grading.

Applications will only be received via an application form which is available from the JIB Offices or by download by clicking the following link:
