Q. When is the holiday pay due to be paid out?

A. Spring - 15th March, Summer - 1st June and Winter - 1st December

Q. P11D values - what are the taxable benefit amounts for this tax year?

A. Go to the ECA website and look under private medical insurance which can be found under the employee benefits package section

Q. Am I covered for Bupa and how do I make a claim?

A. Firstly it is imperative that you check your cover with the ECIBA on 08450 343 200 and they will then advise on the correct procedures.

Q. I have left the company and want to know how I claim my holiday pay

A. Your holiday pay will either be paid directly to your home address or if you have started with another JIB company it will be paid by your new employer

Q. I am in the middle of Bupa treatment and have been made redundant, am I still covered for JIB benefits?

A. You must register in writing with the ECIBA benefits department immediately and sign on with the DSS to maintain a further 26 weeks' cover.

Q. I am off sick. How do I claim JIB Sickness Benefit?

A. Your company claims the sickness benefit through the ECIBA. Therefore you must send your medical evidence to your employer and it will be paid through the normal payroll. You will receive SSP after 3 waiting days. After two weeks you will receive JIB Sick Pay in addition to SSP is payable from the 3rd to the 28th week of sickness

Q. How much is JIB sick pay?

A. There are different amounts dependent upon your grade and these can be found on the JIB website or in the JIB Handbook or by phoning either the JIB on 020 8302 0031 or the ECIBA on 0845 343 200. Please click here to see the JIB Sick Pay bands.

Q. My sickness pay has expired, will I still covered for JIB benefits?

A. Yes you will be covered for JIB benefits as long as you furnish the ECIBA with medical evidence to maintain cover for a further 26 weeks and providing the company are up to date with the benefit credit purchasing.

Q. Am I entitled to bereavement leave with pay?

A. At your employer’s discretion you are entitled to up to 3 days’ with pay for the bereavement of a close relative.

Q. Why do I need a Grant of Probate for a death benefit claim?

A. To enable payment to be made to the correct executor.

Q. Can I claim for dental treatment on our Bupa cover?

A. Only if it is for an operation, but we do run a very competitive Dental scheme under Bupa. For more details ring the ECIBA on 0845 343 200.

A. The JIB at Sidcup can book this for you if you are eligible. Please ring 020 8302 0031.
